Day 1. Arrive in Ulaanbaatar Arrival in Ulaanbaatar, a capital of Mongolia and check in hotel. After lunch, visit to the Bogd Khaan Palace which is one of the oldest exhibits in Mongolia and Natural History Museum. Dinner at a local restaurant and return to the hotel (L, D) |

Day 2. Terelj National Park After breakfast, we will drive to the northeast of Ulaanbaatar and reach to the Terelj national Park. We will watch forest and forest steppe birds: Black Stork, Steppe Eagle, Goshawk, Black Vulture, Black-billed or Spotted Capercaillie (very rare), Oriental Cuckoo, Hoopoe, Great spotted Woodpecker, Black Woodpecker, Great Tits, Willow Tit, Azure winged Magpie. (B, L, D). Overnight in tent. (Camp B; camp L; camp D).

Day 3. Herlen River-Herlen Bayan Ulaan Drive to East through Nalaikh and reach to Herlen river. Then we will reach to the Herlen Bayan Ulaan mountain. We will see breeding Saker Falcon, Steppe Eagle, Golden Eagle, Upland Buzzard, Lesser Kestrel, Common Kestrel, Black Vultures. Also Oriental Plover, Mongolian Lark, Sky lark, Short toed Lark, Horned Lark, Demoiselle crane. Overnight in tents (Camp B; camp L; camp D). |

Day 4. Herlen Bayan Ulaan–Darhan (artificial nest platform) Cross Herlen river and reach to Darhan mountain. Watch Red Deers in different habitats and Saker Falcon, Steppe Eagle, Upland Buzzard nests with chicks. Rock Thrush and Pied Wheatear, Isabelline Shrikes. Artificial nest platforms for improvement of steppe raptors breeding success (raptor conservation). Sand Martin colony. Drive to east to see different type of steppe and steppe birds. Oriental Plover breeding ground. … Overnight in the tent in open steppe (Camp B; camp L; camp D). |

Day 5, 6. Darhan-Baruun urt town Drive to east and reach to Baruun urt town. On the way to the town we will visit to rock hills to see breeding steppe raptors and passerines. White tailed Mongolian Gazelles are abundant. Ground nesting Steppe Eagles. Overnight in the hotel of the town. Internet service and international calls. Overnight in tent. (B, L, D) |

Day 7. Ganga lake Nature Reserve Dariganga (Ganga lake) one of the important IBAreas in Mongolia. Common waders as Temminck’s Stint and Kentish Plovers. Waterbirds and dry steppe birds, listed in MOS BWT03. Visit to nomadic families and overnight in tents near the lake. Overnight in the tent (Camp B; camp L; camp D).

Day 8. Lag lake We will see breeding Demoiselle crane and Gulls listed in MOS BWT03. In 2004, our colleagues counted more than 60 Relict Gulls All steppe passerines and ducks… Overnight in the tent near the lake. Overnight in the tent (Camp B; camp L; camp D). |

Day 9, 10. Tashgain tavan nuur Drive over the plain to reach to Tashgain Tavan Nuur to see Reed Parrotbill (actually it is very illusive and rare birds). There are several small lakes. We will see Ducks and Waterbirds including bearded Tit, Great Reed Warblers, Eastern Harsh Harrier, Pied Harrier, and other steppe raptors. Overnight in the tent near steppe lake. (Camp B; camp L; camp D).

Day 11. Buir lake Drive to the Buir lake. Horned Grebe, Little Grebe, Eurasian Bittern, several hundreds of Swan Goose, Bean Goose, Spot-billed Duck, Wigeon, Pintail, Tufted Pochard, White-winged Scoter, Northern Harrier, Pied Harrier, Eastern Marsh Harrier, Waders, Pied Avocet, Red-necked Phalarope, Eurasian Curlew. White-naped, Demoiselle, Common cranes with chicks, very rarely Siberian and Japanese Cranes (only few records), Isabelline and Brown Shrikes, Pallas’s Reed Bunting… Overnight in tents top of hill near Galuut lake. (Camp B; camp L; camp D).

Day 12. Halh gol We will go around the lake and reach to Halh gol which run from the lake to China. Good habitats for waders, reed birds, and herons. Birdwatching around river reed area. Overnight near the lakes in the tent. (Camp B; camp L; camp D).

Day 13. High grass land-Choibalsan town Drive to Choibalsan town through high grassland plain with several hundreds of Mongolian White-tailed Gazelle. On the way to the town, we will see steppe birds listed in MOSBWT03. Overnight in tent. (Camp B; camp L; camp D).

Day 14. Choibalsan-Undurhaan Drive to Ulaanbaatar and overnight near Herlen river. Typical steppe birds, waterfowl and waders. Overnight in tent. (Camp B; camp L; camp D).

Day 15. Undurhaan-Gun Galuut ger camp Watch White napped crane breeding pairs and relax near Herlen river. See Argali Wild sheep. Overnight in tent. (Camp B; camp L; camp D). |

Day 16, 17. Ulaanbaatar-Hustai Nuruu National Park Arrive in Ulaanbaatar and drive to the Hustai Nuruu National Park to see Przewalskii’s Wild horse and bird watching. Nesting Amur falcon, Hobby, Saker falcon, Black Stork, Black Vulture, Daurian Redstart, Isabelline Shrike, Daurian Jackdaw… Overnight in tent. (Camp B; camp L; camp D).

Day 18. Hustai National Park-Tuul river After breakfast, drive to south of protected area and birdwatching along river valley. We will help to local family to know nomadic lifestyle. Overnight near the river valley. (Camp L, camp D, camp B).

Day 19. Ulaanbaatar-city tour Drive to back to Ulaanbaatar. Shopping, city tour and ending party of the trip. (D).
