Day 1. Arrive in Ulaanbaatar

Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, a capital of Mongolia and check in hotel. After lunch, visit to the Bogd Khaan Palace which is one of the oldest exhibits in Mongolia and Natural History Museum. Dinner at a local restaurant and return to the hotel (L, D)

Day 2. Flight to Hovd by local flight-Har Us lake

Arrive Hovd town and drive to Har Us lake. We will have Dalmatian Pelican, Great White Egret, Eurasian Spoonbill, Black Sotrok, Bar-headed Goose, Whooper Swan, White-headed Duck (rare)…  and other birds listed in MOS BWT09. Overnight in tent. (Camp B; camp L; camp D).

Day 3. Har Us lake-Chono Haraih river- Har Nuur

Move to south east of the lake and reach to Har Nuur lake. We will see Loon, Black necked and Horned Grebes, Cormorants, Great White Egret, Bean Goose, Bar headed Goose, Common Teal, Gadwall, Common Pochard , Goldeneye, Northern and Western Marsh Harrier, Spotted Crake, Baillon’s Crake, waders and other birds listed in MOSBWT09. Overnight in tent. (Camp B; camp L; camp D). 

Day 4. Har Nuur –Durgun Nuur-Mongol els

Drive to down of the lake and reach to Durgun lake. Water birds and waders, and birds in Reed habitats. Move to north east of the lake and will visit to Mongol els. Overnight in tent. (Camp B; camp L; camp D).

Day 5. Mongol els-Airag Lake-Hyargas Lake

Drive to north west of the Mongol els. Fresh water and salty lakes. Rarely seen Houbara Bustard, Mongolian Ground Jay, Pallas’s Sandgrouse, Great Grey Shrike, Brown Shrike, Desert Warbler … Overnight in tent. (Camp B; camp L; camp D). 

Day 6. Hyargas Lake-Uvs Lake

Move to north of the lake and reach to the lake. We will see Black necked and Horned Grebes, Cormorants, Great White Egret, Bean Goose, Bar headed Goose, Common Teal, Gadwall, Common Pochard , Goldeneye, Northern and Western Marsh Harrier, Spotted Crake, Baillon’s Crake, waders and other birds listed in MOSBWT09. Overnight in tent. (Camp B; camp L; camp D).

Day 7. Uvs Lake-Harhiraa mountain

Drive to south west of the lake and reach to Harhiraa mountain range. We will see mountain steppe and high mountain birds as Upland Buzzard, Steppe Eagle, Golden Eagle, White-tailed Eagle, Bearded Vulture, Black Vulture, Eurasian Griffon, Saker Falcon, rarely Peregrine Falcon, Lesser and Common Kestrels, Chukar, Partridge, Musked Wagtail, Rosy Starling, Alpine and Brown Accentor, Guldenstadt Redstart, Great Rose Finch. Overnight in tent. (Camp B; camp L; camp D). 

Day 8. Harhiraa mountain-Achit Lake

Drive to south west east of the mountain and reach to Achit lake. Waterfowl, waders and other mountain steppe birds listed in MOSBWT09.  Overnight in tent. (Camp B; camp L; camp D). 

Day 9. Achit Lake-Tsambagarav Mountain

Drive to down to Hovd and visit to wonderful typical Altai mountain. We will see high mountain bird including Golden Eagle, Bearded Vulture, Eurasian Griffon, Saker Falcon, Chukar, Water Pipit, Musked Wagtail, Alpine and Brown Accentor, Guldenstadt Redstart, Common Redpoll, Eurasian Twite, Asian Rosy Finch,  Great Rose Finch, Snow Bunting.   Overnight in tent. (Camp B; camp L; camp D).

Day 10. Tsambagarav Mountain-Erdeneburen sum-Ongots Ulaan Rocks

Drive to down to Ongots Ulaan Rocks passing through Erdeneburen sum center. We will visit to local Kazak Eagle hunters (Mongolian falconry family). We will see high mountain bird including Golden Eagle, Bearded Vulture, Eurasian Griffon, Saker Falcon, Chukar, Water Pipit, Musked Wagtail, Alpine and Brown Accentor, Guldenstadt Redstart, Common Redpoll, Eurasian Twite, Asian Rosy Finch,  Great Rose Finch, Snow Bunting. Overnight in tent. (Camp B; camp L; camp D).

Day 11. Ongots Ulaan Rocks-Hovd town-Ulaanbaatar

Drive to down to the town and fly to back to Ulaanbaatar by local flight and land Ulaanbaatar.  (D).

Day 12. Ulaanbaatar –Terelj National Park

We will drive to the Terelj National Park through Ulaanbaatar. Forest and forest steppe birds: Black Stork, Steppe Eagle, Goshawk, Black Vulture, Black-billed or Spotted Capercaillie (very rare), Oriental  Cuckoo, Hoopoe, Great spotted Woodpecker, Black Woodpecker, Great Tits, Willow Tit, Azure winged Magpie. Overnight in tent (Camp B; camp L; camp D). Overnight in tent. (Camp B; camp L; camp D). 

Day 13. Terelj National Park-Ulaanbaatar city tour

Drive to back to Ulaanbaatar. Visit to Gandan monastery. Shopping, city tour and ending party of the trip. (D).

Day 14. Departure.
