The Ornithological Laboratory is one of the
main educational and research centers of ornithology in Mongolia. Organizations
focus on training
and educate undergraduate, graduate and PhD students at the
University. The Mongolian Ornithological Society is initiating and organizing
bird watching and bird filming tours in Mongolia which is an important financial
source of ornithological equipments and laboratory expenses that constantly used
by students and members in the office and field trips.
The main activities are followings;
To conduct and propose the International ornithological research projects in Mongolia together with Mongolian and International ornithological organizations.
To make a statement, publication and appeal to the public about research and protection of the rare and endangered species of bird.
To co-control
the illegal hunting of the rare, endangered species of bird and cooperate with
organizations which are responsible for interrupting and stopping these
crime-activities in Mongolia.
To organize and participate the International and Mongolian Ornithological Scientific Conference, training, seminar, and press Conferences in Mongolia and overseas.
To award actively working members in laboratory and Society’s activities.
To organize the Ornithological expedition and field trips for bird watching and bird filming together with Mongolian and International eco-tourist organizations (institutions) in Mongolia.
